Azure Blob, R2 and S3 in File Explorer, like OneDrive

Watch a photo library in Azure Blob Storage appear as a folder: everything listed, photos downloaded as they're opened, the oldest freed when the cache is full, a photo kept on the PC, a new one uploaded and a second drive added in three steps. Then click through it yourself.

AKC BlobDrive beside File Explorer, simulated in the browser with made-up photos and storage. No sound.

What the walkthrough shows

Each step is in the live demo too, ready for you to click.

  1. Everything listedEvery file in the container or bucket shows in File Explorer straight away, taking no space until it is opened.
  2. Downloaded when openedOpen a photo and it downloads, then stays on this PC with a green tick.
  3. A cache size you chooseWhen it fills, the files you haven't opened for longest go back to cloud-only.
  4. Keep what you needAlways keep on this device holds a file or folder on this PC, whatever the cache.
  5. Uploads, never deletesNew and changed files upload; nothing is ever deleted in the cloud.
  6. Add a driveName and storage, connect and test, then the folder and cache: Azure, R2, S3 and more.

Now try it yourself

Files On-Demand needs Windows and your storage, so the live demo is a simulation of the app and File Explorer: the same windows and menus, with made-up photos and storage. Nothing is downloaded, uploaded or stored.
